I have a physician who saw a patient in acute rehab and ordered a DME for use on a fracture that he did not perform the surgery on. He is wondering if we can bill for this. Other than billing for assumption of care for this fracture I am not sure what other options may exist. Is it possible to bill 97760 for orthotic management? He is an orthopedic surgeon and this was done at the facility. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.
