Orthopaedic Office Biller:

The DME suppliers of our braces have told the doctor he can bill for the fitting of the brace in the office using CPT 97760. I would like to check with other ortho offices to see if they are indeed using this when their doctor does the application of a brace in the office.
I did submit this code on a Medicare patient, and it was denied for not having a modifier.
I am told to use the modifier GP, which I know is for "services delivered under an outpatient physical therapy plan of care?. Commercial offices are paying on the 97760.

Can any other ortho coders let me know if the orthopaedic Doc can submit this code and if this would be the correct modifier to use???? I'm still uncertain this is the correct billing for our office.

Thanks,
CW
