Okay orhto world, need a little coding help from a ortho coder. Below is the scenerio, not quit sure what DX to put on this. It is a medicaid patient.

the patient presents with a consultation for prenatal club feet. she is in her 3rd trimester, a 2nd trimester ultrasound revealed B/L clube feet in a young male. There are no other abnormalities of this unborn child.

ortho doctore spent 20 mins consultation.

Not sure what dx code to use.

I'm not familiar with OB, but what about 779.89 and 754.70?

You cannot use congenital codes for an unborn fetus. You must use a pregnancy with fetal abnormality code in the 630-677 range

I don't think you can use any of the pregnancy codes. There are codes for known or suspected fetal abnormality but you can only use these if they affect the obstetrical care or managemnt of the mother. The Ortho doc is not going to be providing any type of obstetrical care, nor is he providng any type of prenatal management. Your best best is to look at the V codes for counseling such as V65.19, V65.40 or V65.49.
