Patient presented with an open wound at the site where a pace maker was removed 2 months prior. Patient presented to the E/R where our general surgeon was asked to assist with controlling the bleeding coming from the site. What I have found suggests reporting 12002.
Pressure dressing removed, as well as Surgicel and a large amount of blood clot. All of the cavity contents were removed and the inferior aspect of the pocket was packed with gauze, while the superior aspect of the wound was inspected. A small pulsatile bleeder was noted coming from the superficial tissues of the chest wall, in the center of the upper wound bed. 3-0 silk figure of eight sutures were placed at the bleeding site and hemostasis was obtained. The packing was removed from the inferior aspect of the wound. No further bleeding seen at any other sites within the wound bed......
