Hi,
I have an interesting op note where the surgeon is stating under the procedure; 1.Laparoscopic appendectomy
2.Right ovarian cystectomy
But in the body of the report it is stating; "Once we finished appendectomy, we put it in specimen bag.There was There was also some what looked like an inflammatory process
in the pelvis, but on further exploration it appeared that it was just extension of the inflammation of the appendicitis. There was though, a small cyst on long pedicle. We resected it just to prevent any possible twisting. Hemostasis was performed. Specimen was removed. We removed the trocars under direct vision. We released the pneumoperitoneum. We closed the fascia of the umbilical port site with figure of eight using 0 vicryl. The skin and al port were closed with 4-0 monocryl subcuticulary.
We billed 44970 and 58662 since cystectomy looked like it was laparoscopic procedure. I would who ever can help me with this.
