Wiki open and closed treatment of multiple metatarsal fractures

My physician performed open treatment with internal fixation second and third metatarsals........ the op note states...I then turned my attention to the fourth and fifth metatarsals. They were anatomically aligned I did not feel I could improve alignment and long term outcome with internal fixation......He would like to bill closed treatment for those metatarsals is that correct???? THANKS

only if his documentation supports that by doing the ORIF on the other metatarsals, it improved that alignment of the other metatarsals. Documentation is going to be VERY important to capture the additional codes.
