HELP

I am having the hardest time with Medicare with this code 64405.

My problem is my doc is giving 3 shots & I can only get 1 paid.

Please - does anyone know the proper way to bill this to Medicare - I think that they will only cover 2 but not too sure on that either.

Thanks to whoever helps.

:eek::confused::eek:

Occipital Nerve Blocks

Hi,

Our physicians will typically do an occiptal block bilaterally and we are getting reimbursed 150% for both injections. I do not know about the billing of three injections as we have never needed to bill that many, but we definitely get reimbursed for two. Hope this info helps.

I agree with Jennifer-and we've always billed ours as 1 line bilaterally, so 64405-50, and Medicare pays 150%.

Greater and Lesser

If the physician documents that he performed a greater and lesser occipital nerve block, is it proper to bill 64405 and 64450 with the Kenalog?
