hosp facesheet exbs may 4 changed to adm may 6 th

do we bill obs for may 4&5


do we bill inpt for may 6th and would it be a 99221-99223 or 99231-99233.


bs will not pay for may 4&5 when bill as inpt because hosp adm facesheet states adm may 6th.

I use the observation codes while in observation and then subsequent inpatient codes if the stay changes to inpatient.

The patient is established so the initial hospital care codes would not be warranted just because the visit status changed.
