Wiki OB Ultrasound 76811

The sonographers in my office said that the latest u/s seminar informed them that 76811 may only be billed by MFM. CPT does not state this; only that all components must be completed. We are not MFM; just plain OB/GYN. Am I right that we may bill this?

All of our OBGYN MDs bill for 76801 and we have never had a problem with that. Also there has been nothing about any changes in any of the Coding Alert or ACOG items we get.

There was an article in the April 2015 edition of the Healthcare Business Monthly that explains the codes 76805 and 76811.

Our OB/GYN providers bill all ultrasounds and we are reimbursed fully. I have not received any communication that indicates we won't get paid in the future.
