I am questioning the AFI on U/S 76805. The amniotic fluid index amount i.e. AFI is 18.53 is needed in the report. Then I was told the wording Amniotic Fluid: Normal, not showing the amount is okay for a complete. In a discussion with the RAD he states they were told "normal" is ok. I was trained we had to use a measurement. Are we allowed to use the wording of "Normal" to bill the complete?

If you look at the lay description, it only states "assessing amniotic fluid." I'm sure this is open to interpretation but at the very least you have to be able to determine the rad "assessed" the amniotic fluid (rather than "measured" the fluid). That could be accomplished by a statement as simple as "amniotic fluid: normal."

Thank you, and yes that what has been determined by ACR findings also in doing my research. Also thank you Stacie Buck for your help.
