I have a pt who had a hysteroscopy done because they thought she had a polyp, but there was none found, would I use dx code 621.0 with cpt 58555? Thank you for your help with this.
If there was no polyp I would not code that, I would code the signs and symptoms whatever she had going on that made the Dr think she possible had a polyp.
Yes of course, it didn't sit well with me but in our system if you put the cpt code in and look for corresponding dx codes, it only came up with 2 and that was the closer choice! I was actually helping a friend out and so did not have the report in front of me, I also would use a v code if there was a family history of an issue. Thank you for the speedy reponse!
