If an ob doc closes private practice and joins another practice as an employee, how does she bill existing global ob patients that will follow her?

I would go ahead and bill for the visits that she has done at the private practice and then bill for the rest at the other place. I would guess her tax ID number would be different so you would bill it as if the patient transferred to another doctor.

you may have to contact the payers to see how they want this billing handled, but in general if the tax id changes then you are billing for two different practices. so you may have to split bill the global services.
