Wiki OB ER E/M Facility Claim

I am doing a review on a OB pt who came in to the ER with pregnancy complications. There was Fetal Heat Monitoring & Fetal Non Stress Test done. My question is are these exams counted when determining the level or E/M care done in ER? Is Fetal Heat Monitoring & Fetal Non Stress Test considered a special study or a diagnostic test? FYI- we are reviewing the facility portion of the visit. Thank you in advance for your input

I am not positive, but when coding the facility portion for the visit, isn't the level chosen based on the resources utilized, the hosptial should have some sort of guidelines on how they determine the leve.

I agree. I would use them on the professional fee side but do not think they would affect the way "we" bill facility fees.
