I recently within the year moved into a Clinical Auditor position and one of the departments I have is a Midwife Services. They have an OB Emergency Department in which they work, and I am struggling to find resources and education on choosing the appropriate ED CPT codes based off OB related problems. Does anyone know of any resources or education that may help me. Thank you! :)

It can be a little different it you are used to non-OB ED charts. A lot of times they use the flow sheet method. If you follow the coding guidelines and use an audit sheet, it is not that difficult. You have to take into account the health of the fetus, etc.
The link above for ACOG is very helpful and you can check the ACEP one I copied. For the ACEP one, expand each number in the list, but this one will specifically help: 14. Should a coder or auditor consider a patient's pregnancy as a factor in assigning the COPA and/or Risk level?
