The doctor performs a hysteroscopy, D&C and an endometrial ablation (Novasure) due to menorrhagia. A specimen from the D&C is sent to the lab and the pathology returns with a polyp as the diagnosis.
Due to CCI edits only 58563 would be billed, so what diagnosis code is appropriate? Most insurances deny a claim for 58563 with N84.0 diagnosis.
Thanks!!!

Novasure

When in doubt ... remember why the Novasure is being done. For the menorrhagia. It's appropriate to use it as the first Dx and the polyp as the 2nd.

Good luck :)
