A facility accidentally coded a case incorrectly and was paid by Noridian. They have been trying to work with Noridian on the claim correction/appeal but Noridian continues to deny the new code they are billing stating that is inclusive of a service already paid.
Coded in error: 63030 for Discectomy and Noridian paid at discectomy rate.
Should have coded: New code for Barricaid procedure: C9757 which is a code that includes the discectomy plus the insertion of the Barricaid device. National MCR reimbursement is twice as much as much for this procedure as the 63030.
Looking for suggestions on how to correct the error and receive appropriate reimbursement.
