Need help with diagnosis please. Pathology reads: skin with non-hodgkins lymphoma with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, T-cell/histiocyte rich. The findings of T-cell histiocyte rich large B-cell lymphoma in the skin is unusual. Do I code to non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and if so, which 5th digit or should I code to malignant skin neoplasm of scalp 173.49? Any input is appreciated - thanks.

Is this from the original path report? I only ask as it is unusual and I am wondering if this is a transcription error. Otherwise I would go with non hodgkins lymphoma and use the fifth digit of 0. Also if you have access to tumor registry persons they are very good at being able to interpret the path report to give you more specifically what it is telling you. You usually find these in the facility.
