Wiki New to Ortho

Our practice is bringing on an Orthopaedic surgeon and his PAs within the next few months. Does anyone have any good resources I can use to study up before they come on board? I have not coded for ortho before, eeek!!

AMA has several resources you can purchase for surgical coding. the key will be in knowing which procedures are bundled together. there are several codes for knee surgeries that are bundled and if unbundled will cause rejections. You can also network with your local chapter to see if anyone in the chapter or other chapters.
