I have a new doctor to our practice. Alot of his patients followed him here. When I bill the insurance for the patient do I bill it as a new patient or est. pt? It's not a new pt to him but it is a new pt visit to us under a new tax id number.

As long as the physician has seen the patient in the last three years, it is an established patient, even when he/she moves to a different practice.
