I have an op note where the physician removed the a cast under fluroscopy but did not put another cast on the patient. Does anyone know if you can bill just the examination with anesthesia? I know that the removal of the cast would not be billed. If it is possible to bill the examination with anesthia what CPT and ICD9 code would be appropriate in this case?
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Did doc remove cast in the OR?

What is he examining under fluoro?

Is the pt in global?

Typically interoperative imaging is included in the procedure but I am not sure what procedure is being done.

He just basicly took the child to the OR under anesthesia and removed the cast. No cast was placed back on the pt. This was under fluroscopy. It is still in the global period from the original.

There are some fluoro codes .... see 76000. Since your doc does not own the equipment you would have to use a "26" mod and you would have to use your "78" mod as well.

I would be curious to see what the facility is billing out, maybe you could ask them?

I am not really sure what else you could bill.Sorry.
