I am a CPC-A who is a software developer with a Radiology Software Development Institution. We are getting ready for the CDS-OAT Spec starting next year. I am having a very hard time understanding what Coding System(s) could be used for the "Observation Value Absent Reason" when an AUC Consultation is not performed. This is data which is sent in an HL7 message between health care institutions. (My question may not be appropriate for this Forum, but there in no "Radiology" forum) Could anyone offer any advice as to what Coding System is used for this? I looked at an AETNA publication of how they would implement CDS-OAT, and it looked like they would use a HCPCS code for "Observation Value Absent Reason". However, I can’t find anything in my codebooks. May I ask if anyone knows what Coding System could be used in HL7 messages to indicate an Absent Reason?
