I saw it in another thread, but it was only mentioned by one person, so I wanted to get some more feedback.
If our outpatient clinic has 4 providers that do inpatient OB visits and they see a baby in the hospital, are they ever billed as a new patient once they come to our office for their well visits or hospital follow-up visit for weight checks or are they billed as established patients after the first hopital visit regardless of which provider they see? No pediatricians, all family practice providers.
(I understand that they could see a specialty provider and be billed as new.)
