Procedure:
Exploratory laparotomy, Hartmann procedure with sigmoid resection and end colostomy.

Just when I had coded this...someone said I was wrong.

I have coded 44143 because Exploratory laparotomy is included with 44143.

I would appreciate the help!!

44143 looks correct for that procedure. The exploratory laparotomy 49000 would bundle and not be billable. Was that the issue?
