I have a Dr. who wants to reference an old progress note. Where can I find an article or guidelines stating how old the progress note can be and what part of the old progress note you can use.
The only part of an old note that can be referenced is the ROS the provider must reference this by date of the note and the notes location ( office. Inpatient. Etc). The provider must indicate that the cold ROS was reviewed with the patient and note and changes or additions. I have read where there is a limit on how old the note being referenced can be.
