Pt was taken into surgery for an unstable metacarpal trapezial joint. After prep, guidewire for the arthrex tightrope was introduced in the base of the metacarpal. This was aimed to the 2nd metacarpal base. The guidewire was inserted w/o difficulty. Small incisions were made over the guidewire for the anchors. The anchor and the base were placed along the bone. The fiber wire was cut. The 2nd anchor was introduced over the sutures. This then reduced the metacarpal on the trapezium. This was tied securely. The small incisions were nylon sutured. Patient placed in thumb spica splint.
