PROCEDURE: EXCISIONAL BIOPSY LEFT NECK MASS(LEFT SUBMANDIBULAR GLAND WITH TWO LARGE LYMPH NODES)
OPERATION AND FINDINGS: The patient was placed in supine position and general anesthesia was satisfactorily inducted. The operative site was painted with Betadine sopan and solution and the patient draped in the usual fashion. The are to be incised was carefully mapped out with a marking pen, which was two finger breadths below the submandibular are and this was carried down transecting the skin, subcutaneous area and the platysma. Encountered were the external maxillary artery and vein and this was transected. Dissection was carried superiorly and the superior border the superior branch of the maxillary artery was also ligated and dissected. The dissection was carried over the tendon of the digastric muscles and lingual nerve along with the hypoglossal nerve was also visualized and these were preserved. The submandibular gland and the duct was ligated as high as we could and this was transected. This specimin came out in toto and it will be sent to lab for histopathologic study.
