can you use an excision code with layer closure codes? or does the excision codes include closures?
 
You have to have a excision in order to have a layered closure. It really depends on how deep they went into the tissue and more importantly how the doctor documents it
 
Excision codes includes simple non-layered closure...if there is an intermediate or complex repair that is an additional code.
 
Excision of SKIN lesions

If you are talking about excising SKIN lesions, then neonelena is correct.

If you are talking about excision from any other part of CPT, then closure is included.
