would like to know if i can bill g0278- iliac angio c/cardiac with card cath-93458 as a hospital billing? i am cath lab coder at hospital and i use fim/sim codes to bill. usually the doctor's dictation says " Nonselective injection of rt ileofemoral system revealed acceptable position of arterial sheath in distal rt common femoral artery above common femoral bifurcation". i know as a physician his office can bill but in hospital there's no payment ? please help
 
I don't think that is enough documentation to support G0278, he didn't report any findings of the injections except that the arterial sheath is in position.

Also, since this code includes S&I and catheter placement, I don't think it is billable by the hospital under any circumstance. It is built as a "professional" code with no technical component
