Could I please get some opinions on this?
If a patient has an established problem that has not seen any/much improvement and the doctor recommends surgery (elective), would you still consider this an "established, stable" condition? Or does the fact that he is recommending surgery mean that it would be considered UNstable?

"not seen any/much improvement" and recommending surgery would mean unstable/worsening to me.
