Hello all,

My doc performed a right groin exploration and excision of scar tissue from a previous RIH repair performed in 2008. Would this fall under the integumentary codes or hernia repair codes with a 52 modifier??

exc of scar tissue would fall under the integumentary codes...per the ACS coding hotline they have told me in the past for a a similar situation to just use 20999 for groin exploration and send documents.
