This is a new one for me. My surgeon performed this surgery for infected sternoclavicular joint with clavicular head osteomyelitis.

"resection of sternoclavicular joint and proximal one third of clavicle and approximately 25%of manubrium en bloc"

Any suggestions on how this should be coded? I'm kinda lost.

I think that 23120 would be appropriate for the patrial claviculectomy but I might ask the surgeon if 23170 (sequestrectomy [eg, for osteomyelitis or bone abscess]) accurately describes what he/she performed. If it does I would go with that code as my primary CPT.
