Our plastic surgeon has a new patient that has a history of right breast cancer and is now needing recurrent biopsies on left breast. She is wheelchair bound and considering a mastectomy just to avoid ongoing biopsies. (had a mastectomy on the right previously but no reconstruction.)

She just wanted a consult to determine if she had reconstruction, would it interfere w/ her ability to propel her wheelchair with her hands.

Other than hx of breast cancer and perhaps acquired absence of breast & nipple I can't come up with dx codes that adequately tell the story of why she is here.

Help, please?

Why is she needing biopsies on the left breast? Breast pain? Lymphadenopathy? Malaise and fatigue NEC? Disturbance of skin sensation?, etc., etc., etc.

There has to be some sign or symptom if the provider is not doing the biopsy out of just fear that the cancer will re-establish itself
