Pre/Post operative Dx: Malignant right pleural effusion.
Operation Performed: Attempted Pleurx catheter placement right pleural cavity.
Procedure: Consent was obtained. He was identified. He was sedated. He was positioned with the left side down and the right side up. He was prepped and draped in usual way. Multiple attempts werer made to aspirate the pleaural effusion under ultrasound guidance, however, this was unsuccessful. The attempt was then terminated. The patient tolerated the procedure well.
