We care for clients who are typically late to care and unsure of lmp since most of our pregnancies are unplanned.
In many cases, we have to perform a dating US to confirm gestational age, viability, and determine plan of care to catch up on prenatal care.
I have a dating report that confirms gestational sac/age measurements, amniotic fluid, placenta location, fetal heart rate, estimated fetal weight, 2D measurements & calculations. I cannot identify 4 chamber heart, intracranial, umbilical cord insertion information.
The sonographer coded as 76805 in error.
BUT, my question is: If all she did was the things listed, what code is appropriate for dating US? 76816 implies a follow up US -- Can I use it as my initial dating US
What diagnosis code would be appropriate? In other posts, I see alot of the V72.4X
