Hi All

I hope someone can help with this.

Our Doc. did a planned De Quervain release in the OR, during the procedure he nicked a nerve, and had to do a nerve repair.

We will code for the De Quervain, can we also code and bill out the nerve repair? If so would you bill De Quervain 25000 with the nerve repair as two separate codes or just bill 25000 and add modifer 22, or not bill out the repair code at all.

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

You should charge only for the De Quervain release. The nick in the nerve was caused by the provider. You wouldn't charge for something that was caused by the surgeon.

from the provider side of things our offices do not bill.

The facility will have to determine a policy/guideline if they should or shouldn't bill. I'm for the ASC side and we do not charge.
