We gave an solu-medrol injection in the office and the clearing house is denying the claim for incorrect NDC number. I got the number off of the actual medication and it is still being denied. Has anyone have this issue
Did you convert the NDC to 11-digit format (HIPAA requires 11-digit though NDC's are often 10 digits)? If not, here is a quick reference for how to add a zero in the right place to convert to the 11-digit format - http://www.mytricare.com/Internet/tric/tri/imglib.nsf/(WebFiles)/0CBA3524BE3B363885257C75004D7FC1/$FILE/National_Drug_Code_Handout_South_2014.pdf
Thank you for the reference. Yes, the ndc on the bottle is already in 11 digit format. I think I have to call my EHR company to find out why it is being denied since all 11 digits are there.
