Good Morning!
I have a question regarding CPT 29824 I am hoping to get some clarity from fellow coders. I work in an office with 10 orthopaedic doctors, all of which do shoulder scopes. 1 physician in particular ALWAYS dictates "mumford procedure" in the procedure section of his op note but never dictates the amount he took off in the body of the note. My question is, if he says "small osteophytes on either side of the AC joint were co-planed with the acromiopasty" is this considered inclusive or could this be a mumford? I know he has to dictate the amount but he has been asked to do so on many, many occassions and his thoughts are "if I say I did it in the procedure then I did at least 8mm". I believe coplaning is inclusive and does not indicate a full "mumford".
Any thoughts?
