Wiki Multiple stones treated on same side

Hi,

I was looking for some clarification on billing for 50590 Extracorpeal Shockwave Lithotripsy for multiple stones treated on the same side in the same session. We normally do the billing for both Professional and Technical charges. So my question is..
Are we able to bill for the 50590 for each stone treated on the same side or is there a modifier that will help with getting reimbursed for the treatment of multiple stones on the same side? Possibly modifier 22?

you cannot report quantity but you could use the 22 modifier but make sure in the op note it states the difficulty and time it took to justify the 22
