One of our PA's called me on Friday and stated that they had done a consultation on a pateint earlier in the month at the hospital, the patient was discharged, had been recently readmitted and we were being asked for another consultation for the same dx as earlier in the month however this was a different admission. I said that it was ok to bill for the consultation a second time since it was a different admission, however now I'm wondering if we should. Am I missing something here?

I think the consults with every new admission could be coded separately.So you can code the consult with the first admission as well as consult with the second admission separartely.Of course the factors like which insurance company is it with and which day has the consult been done can change the scenario while coding.
