Can someone please clerify...
the Dec 2012 coding edge (p16) states unrelated codes on same day may be reported separately w/o pymt reduction. Page 17 (No Relation = No Multiple Scope Deduction) states the multiple endo rule applies only when 2 or more endos are in the same family. If they are in different families you don't need to worry about the rule and each code may be reported without payment reduction because the scopes are not part of the same code family.
Is this strictly for those procedures with a pymt indicator of "3" or does this mean that procedures from different families (EGD with Colon) should both be paid in full?
