When a doctor orders a MRI for a pt durring a visit how many points does he get for that? does he just get 1 for the review and/or order of tests in the radiology section of cpt?? If he also gets xrays is it still 1? Would the order of the MRI fall under risk of complications and /or Morbidity or Mortality? I do not know where to count the MRI to get the level of MDSM.

If he only orders then he will get 1 point, if he oredrs and interpret it then he will get 2 points, no matter how many labs he orders he only gets 1 point, and more over it dostnt fall under risk,

Order of test or labs or any other information will fall unders AMOUNT OF DATA REVIEWED, so for your question MRI comes unders 2nd table as 1 point.
