The CPT book states for 64455 "Injection(s), anesthetic agent and/or steroid, plantar common digital nerve(s)". My question is are the steriod medications included in the code? Should we be billing the medication codes as well?

You can bill the steroid separately from the injection code. Any anesthetic (marcaine, lidocaine, etc.) is included.

Be sure to read how many milligrams were injected to be sure on how many units to bill for the appropriate J-code.
