Wiki Molecular analysis on peripheral blood

We have been receiving tubes of peripheral blood in our pathology laboratory that the clinician wants to have sent to an outside lab for molecular analysis, like RT-PCR. Our pathologists enter the diagnosis in our computer system and generate a report, but no work is performed at our hospital. I have been submitting these to our billing office as "no charge" but I wonder if I can charge something for these? Any help is sure appreciated. Thanks!
