Question on modifier during global.

Doc incised abscess in office. 1 week later (still in 10day global) took patient to the OR and incisded abscess again. Different code for each incision. Which modifier would I use... the 78 for return to OR related same doc during post op (even though we weren't in the OR the first time) OR 58 as a related procedure during post op?

I'd use the 58, staged or related procedure during the post op. 78 is for a return to the OR and since he was never in the OR this modifier wouldn't be appropriate. If you look at the definition for modifier 58 it says that the procedure may be more extensive than the original, so this would be the correct one to use.
 
That was my thought process as well. Guess I just wanted someone to confirm it before I stuck my foot in my mouth. Thanks D! :D
