I have a question that I am hoping someone can help me with. I work in a Orthopedic Office, First was told to use KX modifier on all Dme that is sent to Medicare and then was advised by another Admistar Federal DME rep that in order for Medicare to pay for Lower Extremity Dme, we have to add modifier KX. When the claim is submitted for upper extremity, Medicare says they only reimburse on lower leg orthotics. So what do we do with upper extremity?
Also, does anyone have any info on modifier KX.
