Wiki modifier for unsuccesfull procedure

Does anybody know what modifier to use for a close reduction w/manip for a failed hip displasya? The doctor attempted the procedure twice but it failed.

it is my understanding that you bill with no mdifier, even if the sx was unsuccessful because you bill the intended procedure. your physician did all of the work of a closed reduction...it just did not work. i would only bill the closed reduction code 1 time even though the dr tried twice.
