Wiki Modifier 78 or 79??

Patient underwent a laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass 3-9-11. On 4-29-11 underwent EGD so used a 78 modifier and underwent another EGD 5-25 which I also used a 78. The patient then underwent a diagnostic lap w/lysis of adhesions on 5-27-11 - still in global. Do I use a 78 or 79 for the lysis of adhesions? Thanks

Stick to the basics, if adhesions are involving bypass region, should be 78. If they are in away from bypass, 79. OP report should help you clear this.
