Need help figuring out how to bill this. The surgeon. I am billing for. Dr. B, documented a separate op note, and performed a separate procedure in the middle of the primary doctor's ( Dr. A) procedure. My problem is the procedure for my doc performed is an add-on code 44139! I don't think I can bill just an add-on with mod 62 and not get denied?.. what does one do in this situation? He clearly was not an assistant, and he did not perform any parts of Dr. A's procedure, so I can not bill use his code and my primary code to the add-on code.
