How many providers can bill this for 1 xray? If the chiro takes the xray and then sends out to be read, who gets the professional component. Or can both bill for the professional component. The xrays are taken usually on the first office visit and a e/m code is billed also.

The provider that performs the professional interpretation and writes the radiology interpretation report is the one that bills the professional component

I have a chiropractor who is taking the xrays and then billing for the global. He will write something about the xrays, bill e/m code and chiro cpt code and then sends xrays out for another opinion. Then the radiologist will bill for the professional component. Who gets the professional component.
