I work for an orthopaedic clinic and the question has come up regarding fragility fractures and osteoporosis. If we are seeing a patient for a fracture post op visit and our physician begins treatment for osteoporosis for bone health, can we bill that office visit using a 24 modifier for the osteoporosis diagnosis which is a new treatment?
